Maya Jane Coles 23 year old, London born producer and DJ has become not only The UK’s but international proclaimed success.
Her journey began at the age of 15 where she began producing Hip Hop which overtime evolved in to drum and bass. Through her production, writing and engineering Maya has ventured into the underground house scene. Bringing a mixture of sounds which have come together from her eclectic background, influenced by dub, punk, soul, jazz and classical.
Having been signed by the likes of Dogmatik and loco supreme playing at gigs such as BBC Electric Prom, Sonar and Bestival. Coles has infused techno house with her dub originating sound. ‘What they say’ has to be said to be the making of Cole bringing her into the house scene and taking over. At the mere age of 23 she has obliterated sales on Beatport and was voted number 1, 2 and 3 on Resident Advisors October 2010 chart.
Newer productions from Maya including Hummingbird, Focus Now, Beat Fast and her latest release Don’t put me in your box have not only added to her success but are dominating the charts. It can be said that Maya doesn’t follow a specified genre of music simply takes electronic sounds to create a unique style which she has successfully formed over time and will continue to do so which will come as no surprise to music listeners as She never fails to disappoint.
