The government of the Balearics that includes Ibiza published its plans to impose a “Sustainable Tourism Tax” to help protect the islands’ resources.

All tourists (over 16) staying in Ibiza from 1 July will pay the imposed levy for every night they stay on the island. The amount you pay is determind on the standard of your accomodation so if youre living that backpaker life in a hostel or campsite exspect it to be 50 cents per person per night but luxury lovers in hotels and swanky apartmernts should expect €2 per person per night.
