Officially launched on 1st June 2010, Lower East is a fairly new, but already well established record label founded by 3 East London individuals; Lee Brinx, Cozzy D & Ed Kane (Kanio/Dexter Kane). With their first release ‘Tease’ (LOW001) by Cozzy D, this was set to be the start of their future success with the label. Their combined talents alongside previous releases with the likes of Trapez, Noir, Welt, 1traxx, Rawthentic and I-Fi Music to name a few, is what led to creating this label with one simple ethos; quality electronic music.

Each founder of Lower East have been strongly immersed in our London underground scene for a long time now, each bringing different influences to their music which collaborated together is what has led to the creation of this successful record label. Some of their most popular releases so far consist of Cozzy D, Dexter Kane ‘Crusier/Bruiser’, Alexis Raphaels ‘Kitchen & Bedrooms’ and one of our personal favourites Lee Brinx ‘Over You’.

Other artists that have made an appereance on the label include Alexis Raphael, Wildkats, Max Chapman, Tom Budden, Miguel Puente, Dodha, Gav Memnos and James Pople. This was via Lower East’s first Various Artist’s EP – Inner Circles Volume 1 (LOW016) which consisted of 8 orginal tracks with no remixes. Released only last December (05-12-11) it is a great snapshot of where the label is currently at in terms of not only the sound but artists they aim to promote.
