Annie Mac’s Lost and Found is like her own personal party that we were all invited to. Her festival in Malta ran from the 2 – 5 May 2019. With the event being so early in the summer season great weather was not guaranteed but I presume it meant the killer list of Artists were all available pre-Ibiza.

The festival offered a mixture of music but I was there purely for the house. People with more varied tastes were not ignored with many enjoying the chance to see Azelia Banks and Original Koffee perform alongside others.

Each day offered up both day time and night time events. The pool parties and night time festival were included with your ticket but some optional extras gave you the chance to experience something different. The highlight of my trip being a daytime castle rave that cost extra but was well worth it.

To reach the castle we traveled via a shuttle coach to a remote hilltop where we partied all day within the grounds of a pink-walled castle. It was a very instagramable site. Time literally slipped by as we partied in the sunshine and Denis Sulta rallied the crowd by jumping on the decks and dancing along with us. I was only brought back to reality when we were hit by a rain shower about 1hr before the event was due to end. And although we were on a hilltop with no pool some people had chosen to wear bikinis so I guess in the end they had the last laugh as they dressed for water.

The nighttime festival was about 30minutes on the shuttle from Café Del Mar Malta and was spread across a number of indoor and outdoor stages. Numerous bats meant you didn’t have to wait long for a drink and there were loads of portaloos – although I do usually prefer somewhere with a light and a mirror for touch-ups.

I had a list of set times but unlike the day time events that always seemed quite relaxed and not overcrowded the night time festival got busier as the nights went on and so it was easier to stay in one place- if you didn’t want to waste valuable dancing time roaming around quite a large festival space. The only space I’ve experienced like it would be the outdoor space at DC10 in Ibiza.

I felt like the majority of the crowd is 18 – 25 but all positive and looking to have fun. Everyone seemed like they were in it for the music and most happy to have a chat and a laugh.

There were also lots of female DJs on the line-up something’s we are seeming more of at every event year on year. Annie Mac seems genuinely happy that so many people were brought together by her event, looking back on the event she said: “I have so many amazing memories of AMP Lost & Found this weekend just gone but the overriding one I will take with me is just watching girls on every stage”.

Plans are already in place for the 2020 edition of the festival. From Thursday 30th Apr 2020 – Monday 4th May 2020 Lost & Found Festival will be spread across Malta with open-air clubs, pool parties, boats, beaches and a castle presenting house and techno, grime, hip-hop and garage music.
Tickets start from £99 + booking fee.
