Another UK electronic dance music festival has been cancelled – who  is to blame ? We are investigating now but some of our early feedback from an attendee is :

I was there- it was shambles!
I was early there so there wasnt much of a queue but looking around there was still scaffolding with some structures not finished. This didnt concern me that much as I was there for the music not the architecture. Some of the smaller arenas had a lot of distortion from the speakers, again I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
I then saw the first act in the main arena which was Amon Tobin which was mind blowing, at this point the arena was still not full. However as time went on it was clear something was not right and people had a lot of difficulty moving around. We then waited 40 minutes for Snoop to enter the stage, which had been set up for him, but were then told he was not playing “due to a technical error” and that we would be refunded!
NO information from anyone and no apology from Bloc’s own website- how can anyone trust this event ever again?
I cannot see them coming back from this to be honest.

The organiser’s response so far has only been a statement on their website :

By now everyone will have heard that Bloc 2012 was closed due to crowd safety concerns.

We are all absolutely devastated that this happened, but the safety of everyone on site was paramount.

Given the situation on the ground, we feel that it was the right decision to end the show early.

Bloc will not open on Saturday 7th July so please don’t come to the site.

Stand by for full information on refunds.
