Sydney-born and Berlin-based DJ/producer Logic1000 has remixed the 2001 Groove Armada classic, ‘My Friend’. Out 6th April via BMG, the remix is the first in a string of releases marking the 25th year since the band’s debut single ‘At The River’

Originally released as the second single from their third studio album, ‘Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub)’, ‘My Friend’ became an instant Ibiza classic and one the most recognisable dance tracks of the 21st century.

Known for her ability to move across genres with ease, Logic1000 steps in for an emotive update of ‘My Friend’ laden in mid 00’s nostalgia and leaning heavily into her penchant for mood-switching soundscapes and closing tracks.

“Remixing such a classic was an absolute honour. I have such strong memories of the vocal in My Friend from way back, so it was really fun to recontextualise it into something Logic-esque” – Logic1000

Encompassing elements of garage and deep house, both sounds that are reflective of her musical personality, Poulter breathes new life into the iconic vocal, setting it against darker hypnotic synths to produce her signature club-ready sound while staying true to the sentiment of the original.

The release follows the recent support announcement for next month’s GA25 tour – Groove Armada’s final full live UK tour. Acts including Norman Jay MBE, Ewan McVicar, PBR Streetgang, Andy Baxter, Arielle Free, Ishmael Ensemble, Luke Una, Hot Blood & Warm DJ’s will join the band at venues across the country for an almighty celebration as they approach a huge milestone and mark the anniversary with a return to the road.
