Paradise returned to DC-10 in Ibiza this summer with Jamie Jones and a host of resident DJ’s. Every Wednesday DC-10 is transformed into a haven on ‘Dance Energy’ inspired by the 1988 summer of love that changed the face of dance music forever.
Arriving at DC-10 is always a well-organised affair, stewards navigate taxi’s into the parking lot in quick succession. The queue for tickets holders moved swiftly, you could pay on the door but the guestlist queue snaked around with no end in sight.
As soon as you arrive at the venue you are greeted by a glowing smiley face in the garden that not only looks cool but makes for a great signature photo that you won’t get anywhere else.
From 6pm music is played in the garden but as I arrived after midnight it was transformed into a chillout space with bean bags that you can hang out with friends, get some cool air and have a cigarette. There are also two long bars outside with speedy service.
Paradise create a cool atmosphere with a nice mix of people from England and across the globe. We spoke to cool people from Spain, America and Liverpool throught the night. There are two rooms, the main is the signature warehouse space – but if you stay at the back you literally can’t even see the DJ so take a deep breath and shuffle to the front. The second room is always just a bit more relaxed, it’s smaller but has a real underground feel.
When I visited on Wednesday 19th September 2018 the lineup consisted of
Jamie Jones, Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, Skream, Richy Ahmed B2B Andrea Oliva, Italo Johnson, Detlef, Nathan Barato. As always no visited would have been complete if you don’t wait it out for the man himself so we danced through the night until we caught a glimpse of Jamie Jones in the main room. During the night the music was deep but bordered on tech at times.
