Trends For Spring, To Wear In Winter: Urban Lifestyle (Part 2)
The first of this four part series showcased one of Hillary Alexander’s key trends for this spring; Graphic Art, and explained how key pieces can be mixed up into your winter wardrobe so you can be on trend ahead of time. This week we explore Urban Lifestyle; a great mix of classic and contemporary styles that can be dressed up or down to suit your tastes.
This trend exhibits a juxtapose of shapes and silhouettes that includes renewed focus on neat, grown up pieces such as pencil skirts, collared blouses and fitted day dresses. Add in an additional sporty layer such as the bomber jacket, Bermudas and short-shorts to complete the look. Key colours include beige, navy, white, accents of grey, lipstick red and cobalt.
– Layer smart playsuits over leggings and team with high top sneakers to experiment with contrasting looks.
– Wear figure hugging jersey skirts with tights, chunky heels and the bomber jacket to really create a statement.
– Wear short-shorts with tights and sneakers, along with a loose shirt to create a casual composition.
