Photographer Alex Amorós has put his skills to good use documenting some of London’s most loved music venues that have unable to welcome visitors due to the pandemic.

“Live Music has shaped so much of my life from working in the venues to playing myself. I wanted to give something back & show support in whatever way I can.” – Alex Amorós

His photo project ´40 Music Venues´ was carried out during lockdown 2.0, with Oval Space, the Electric Ballroom, and Oslo amongst the spaces to be featured.

Talking about what inspired him to undertake this project Alex said: “I started this passion project to depict the regulatory impact on 40 Live Music Venues across London.

“The music industry not only employs a huge amount of people but is the heart & soul of this city; giving joy to many & bringing people together. This project is proudly in support of the ‘Save Our Venues’ campaign.”

In the coming weeks, a photobook of the eerily cool images will be released (pre-orders available here ). There will also be an exhibition.

“The experience of being in an empty venue caused me sadness and I moved back to many good moments that I have spent in them.” – Alex Amorós
