Here at House and Heels we love it when our two passions come together and a clothing brand that does just that is the fabulous homegrown brand iwhoretees.
Since launching, their collecting has grown in size and popularity , they display a unique sense of style and promote wearers to make the tee’s their own by styling them to their taste. I caught up with iwhoretee’s to get some background to the brand.
HouseandHeels: why did you decide to start your collection?
iwhoretees: There are so many reasons! The main one was it made sense. We’ve never been into conventional fashion, someone is always cutting or sewing or drawing. When we’d go out, we’d wear something custom made and would receive great feedback. Eventually we thought hey, let’s try and make this into a business since there appeared to be a market for our take on fashion. We are so excited to be on this journey, it’s hard work but definitely worth it.
HandH: what are your main influences?
iwhoretees:It’s probably weird to say but we have mainly influenced our collection. We are into simplicity, getting to the point is definitely an iwhoretees trademark (as you’ll probably notice from our designs!) We also love the quirky nature of brands like American Apparel.
HandH:how are your tee’s best styled?
iwhoretees:The great thing about iwhoretees is you can pretty much dress them up or down. We’ve had people upload pics of themselves in their iwhore worn in so many different ways; you can definitely make the tee your own. We regularly produce a fashion spread in the Love2Rave.com online magazine offering complimentary clothing suggestions for our tees.
HandH:when your not wearing Iwhore what kind of things do you like to wear?
iwhoretees:Hmmm, as a team, all our styles are different. Femi is our Funky dresser. She can pretty much pull off anything from any shop. Shade is our sex bomb lol. She can make the most granny’fied’ outfit hot. DiDi is our simple and stylish team member. She doesn’t like complicated fashion at all. Finally, our Charlene is the boyish one of the group. She is one of the only people we know who can wear men’s clothes and look like a cool chick!
HandH:how would you best describe iwhore?
iwhoretees:We would best describe iwhore as Contradictive, which by the way isn’t even a real word which speaks for itself! We like to represent the side people don’t usually bring out. The naughty boys can ‘show love’ and the good girls can show that ‘XX’ marks the spot ;).
